Summary

This deluxe edition brings to life the letters exchanged among Jane Austen's characters in Pride and Prejudice。

Glassine pockets placed throughout the book contain removable replicas of 19 letters from the story。

These powerful epistles include Lydia's announcement of her elopement, Mr。 Collins's obsequious missives, and of course Darcy's painfully honest letter to Elizabeth。

• Nothing captures Jane Austen's vivid emotion and keen wit better than her characters' correspondence。
• Each letter is re-created with gorgeous calligraphy。
• Letters are hand-folded with painstaking attention to historical detail。

Perusing the letters will transport readers straight to the drawing room at Netherfield or the breakfast table at Longbourn。

For anyone who loves Austen, and for anyone who still cherishes the joy of letter writing, this book illuminates a favorite story in a whole new way。

• Step inside the world of Pride and Prejudice, one of the most beloved novels of all time。
• Great Mother's Day, birthday, or holiday gift for diehard Jane Austen fans
• A visually gorgeous book that will be at home on the shelf or on the coffee table
• Add it to the shelf with books like What Would Jane Do?: Quips and Wisdom from Jane Austen by Potter Gift, Jane-a-Day: 5 Year Journal with 365 Witticisms by Jane Austen Edition by Potter Gift, and The Real Jane Austen: A Life in Small Things by Paula Byrne。

Even if you already know the story, it’s still a great read。

4。5/5This took me so long to finish。 But, this book will put me in a reading slump- I feel so empty now after it’s over。 Honestly, the plot dragged but it was cute- especially the ending。 I mean。。 who doesn’t love Darcy:) I feel like maybe I would appreciate this even more in a couple more years- definitely going to reread this novel。 Plus, the writing style was beautiful - even if it took a while to adjust to。 Proud to say I’ve completed my first Jane Austen novel and I loved it! I really liked this book! At some points it had my heart glowing with joy! At others had me gasping out loud。 And always left me wanting to read on。 I found it very interesting to see what different words and grammar they used in 19th century England。 It was fun to see how my opinion on Mr。 Darcy (one of the characters) changed throughout the book。 Overall would recommend for people who enjoy older books and romance。

Omg。One of my favorite books till now。I just loved it。I admit that there were moments where I found a little boring all the chatter related to the social life but then I couldn't avoid to get fascinated by how the life was at the time。Austen's narrative is faultless and the last 2 days I felt like living on that time。And now let's jump to the most important thing。Ohh Mr。 Darcy!I love him with my whole heart。。。 at the bbeginning I couldn't bare with him but then I couldn't do anything but love hi Omg。One of my favorite books till now。I just loved it。I admit that there were moments where I found a little boring all the chatter related to the social life but then I couldn't avoid to get fascinated by how the life was at the time。Austen's narrative is faultless and the last 2 days I felt like living on that time。And now let's jump to the most important thing。Ohh Mr。 Darcy!I love him with my whole heart。。。 at the bbeginning I couldn't bare with him but then I couldn't do anything but love him and understand him。There's also Elizabeth, who seems to me a great women role model and I also loved that she was constantly analizing people。And well, Darcy and Lizzy's relationship, I was literally all the book waiting them to finally confess their feelings and the waiting was a 100% worth it。I loved the book and I would re-read it a hundread times。 。。。more

I think personally for me, I just can't seem to get into books that been written so long ago。 Think its just with the way of the writing。 Plus i had watched the movie before the book and always seem to prefer movies when i've watch them first。 I think personally for me, I just can't seem to get into books that been written so long ago。 Think its just with the way of the writing。 Plus i had watched the movie before the book and always seem to prefer movies when i've watch them first。 。。。more

For the first time I listened to it (via the voice of Rosamund Pike)。 Which allowed me to wander through Central Park this Fall as if I were Lizzie strolling endlessly。 I turned onto 5th avenue one afternoon at the exact chapter she sees Pemberley。 Admiring the statues of the Metropolitan Museum of Art while she toured Darcy's estate。 The Conservatory Garden by 105th street could easily be a seen from English Georgian society。 New Yorkers taking a turn around the fountains。 For the first time I listened to it (via the voice of Rosamund Pike)。 Which allowed me to wander through Central Park this Fall as if I were Lizzie strolling endlessly。 I turned onto 5th avenue one afternoon at the exact chapter she sees Pemberley。 Admiring the statues of the Metropolitan Museum of Art while she toured Darcy's estate。 The Conservatory Garden by 105th street could easily be a seen from English Georgian society。 New Yorkers taking a turn around the fountains。 。。。more

This was a very dramatic read in all the good ways。 I loved the characters, the language, the *drama*, and the atmosphere。It's a rather easy classic to read and I love that for me。 I loved Elizabeth and Jane's relationship。 I loved Mr。 Bennet's attachment to her daughter。 I loved to see the culture and etiquette of the time reflected。 I detested Mr。 Collins, but who doesn't?Mrs。 Bennet and Lydia are definitely of the same fabric and my dislike of them was very strong yet also very welcome since This was a very dramatic read in all the good ways。 I loved the characters, the language, the *drama*, and the atmosphere。It's a rather easy classic to read and I love that for me。 I loved Elizabeth and Jane's relationship。 I loved Mr。 Bennet's attachment to her daughter。 I loved to see the culture and etiquette of the time reflected。 I detested Mr。 Collins, but who doesn't?Mrs。 Bennet and Lydia are definitely of the same fabric and my dislike of them was very strong yet also very welcome since mostly the characters in the book were very likable。 I knew Darcy was endgame so I didn't really fall for any other traps set in the way for the reader BUT I kind of really liked Wickham in the beginning!!
